The class pages I found have general information and guidelines for the classroom. The content does change depending on what grade level the class page is for, but it is centered around expectations in the classroom and necessary items kids will use. All of the class pages I looked at have important dates that tell what will happen on the specific day. There is also information geared towards parents such as how to get their child prepared and outlining what will be required of the student. Extra resources for learning and some of the regular handouts are provided on the page. The page linked below is for Yorktown Christian Academy 4th grade classes.

It is essential to use technology in the classroom to prepare students for the technologically advanced world that is growing larger every day. Technology offers more efficient avenues to organize information and to find the information in the first place. There are so many options to choose from that will aid in a professional setting. I will likely use the web 2.0 tools we've learned about to connect and collaborate with my colleagues. There are few jobs that technology isn't used in some form or fashion, and there are no jobs that technology wouldn't make more efficient and effective. When I begin my career there is no doubt I will be utilizing any technology that will make me more productive and my work more thorough.

The technology sandbox has numerous pieces of technology that would useful in the classroom. Games that are engaging while also teaching require curriculum are extremely useful for teaching in a way students will remember and want to continue learning. The electronic white boards in the sandbox would be the item I want most in my classroom because it puts technology in the center of the classroom and every student has access to it. I could use the board as a way for students to interact with the material they're learning. The augmented reality applications would also be very useful for the same reason although every student may not have access to a smartphone.

The ELA standards outlining the expectations for reading comprehension, vocabulary identification, gathering information from multiple sources, and finding what mediums are most useful for certain  topics for 8th grade students are standards I am most well equipped to teach at the moment. I still have room for improvement in these areas, but English studies are most comfortable for me. The technological side of the ELA standards are something I need more instruction on. While I am capable of teaching the technological side it wouldn't hurt to have a better structure for them. Understanding something is very different than being able to teach it. The pre-made lesson plans offered in CPALMS are something I would use in my classroom. ILP "Participation" - Lynda Tutorial - Browse the Web Safely

The ILP I participated in this time was a Lynda.com tutorial on how to traverse the web in a safe manner. With the growing use of technology there will also be a growing amount of risks. The data we share on the internet via social media sites and meta data from just browsing can be used to steal passwords or identities. This tutorial went over concrete ways to make the browsing experience safer. It also touched on the ways to stave off hackers from any smart devices a person might have in their house. There are so many areas that might be exploited and this video covered almost all of them with great depth. Above is a screenshot of the categories they covered. They even included ways to protect your security physically like locking your screen when not using a device or putting an identification sticker on the device in case it's lost.
